The culture of Mexico, specifically in Nogales, doesn't just have to be about the food and dancing. There's always nature to consider. I'm talking about the historic Anza trail that takes the driver on a scenic route from Mexico and even up into San Fransisco!
The trail starts in Tubac, Arizona which is just south of Tucson and stretches into California.
The trail is over 1,200 miles but the fascinating part is that, while the drives are scenic and beautiful, you are also getting a dose of history when you drive the Anza Trail. The Anza trail was used by Spanish conquistadors and colonists and they came to inhabit the west and shape the culture surrounding these areas.
The Spanish used the trail from 1775-1776. Now the trail starts in Nogales, so for a perfect trip back into history I recommend taking the route from Tucson, down to Tubac and then into Nogales. What a better way to get a taste of Mexican culture than to relive it? And in an air conditioned vehicle...yea...way cooler :)
